Strictly Come Dancing Week 4

Tonight thankfully is the last night that our competitors are split into boy/girl groups. Can’t wait till next week when the competion really starts!

Here are my thoughts

The quicksteps

Christine & Matthew. Sorry, I didn’t enjoy this very much even though Christine is one of my favourites. I didn’t like the music, the top of her dress, or the way they did her hair! The judges had mixed views on the dance – personally I thought it had too many tricks and not enough actual quickstep – it was also too quick for me! Like a race. I also thought they spent too long on the stage before they came down and danced. It’s a shame because “she’s so lovely” and bubbly. I hoped for more.
Scores: Craig 6, Arlene 6, Len 7, Bruno 7.

Heather and Brian. I didn’t like this either. There didn’t seem to be nothing much wrong with it, but I wasn’t blown away. Can’t even remember the song. Wonder if her nerves are getting too her too much.
Scores: Craig 6, Arlene 5, Len 6, Bruno 6.

Jessie & Darren dancing the Quickstep to Help. Jessie’s posture was very bad, her dress did her no favours at all, it was also too long – I had visions of her tripping over. I also think she lost her confidence totally in the beginning when she got a step wrong. They did need our help, but didn’t get it, and were voted out.
Scores: Craig 3, Arlene 5, Len 5, Bruno 6.

Rachel & Vincent danced quickstep to Little Green Bag. Thankfully, a good quickstep. Mind you, I wasn’t really expecting any different from these two!
Scores: Craig 8, Arlene 8, Len 9, Bruno 8.

The Rumbas

Rumba is the most difficult dance for celebs, but generally I was pleased with the standard in this episode.

Jodie & Ian danced Rumba to “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”. I personally disagreed with the judges comments about lack of emotion – this girl is not an actress, and probably does not feel “that way” about Ian anyway! I definitely saw eye contact in places, and when they kissed at the end…………………………………… nothing in it of course!
Scores: Craig 4, Arlene 6, Len 6, Bruno 6.

Cherie & James danced the Rumba to “Songbird”. This was my best dance of the night, I thought she was super! Beautiful dress, beautiful lady! Surprised at Arlene’s comments about James never having seen him dance so tenderly?? (what about the ones he does with his wife Ola!)
Scores: Craig 9, Arlene 9, Len 8, Bruno 9.

Lisa & Brendan danced the Rumba to Suddenly. Again, I enjoyed this very much, except for Lisa’s make up. She didn’t even look like herself!
Scores: Craig 8, Arlene 8, Len 8, Bruno 8.
